You can now order a vanity plate online!
A vanity plate for a passenger vehicle can be any combination of two (2) to six (6) letters or up to six (6) letters and numbers. See format for letters and numbers on vanity application in sailboat
and wave
styles. The fee to order a vanity plate in the sailboat design is $81.50, and the fee to order a vanity plate in the wave style is $67.50.
For a motorcycle, it is any combination of five (5) letters and numbers that is not already registered to a passenger or commercial vehicle. The fee to order a motorcycle vanity plate is $41.50.
For a commercial vehicle, a vanity plate is any combination of five (5) letters and numbers that is not already registered to a passenger vehicle. The fees to order commercial vanity plates are the same as those for ordering passenger plates. Commercial plates with all digits are not considered vanity plates and cannot be ordered as vanity. The GVWR of the vehicle that will be registered with the vanity plates must be 9000 GVWR or less.
The DMV will screen your request for appropriateness. Any request deemed offensive will not be processed and the fee returned to the customer.

If you lease your vehicle, you must present the leasing company's Power of Attorney to the DMV in order to pick up your new vanity plates.
