Operator Control

If your license or registration has been suspended in the State of Rhode Island, there are three different ways that you may receive information on how to correct the problem.

You may contact the Division of Motor Vehicles, Operator Control Division at (401) 462-0800

You may correspond by writing and requesting the information from:

The only forms that are generated in Operator Control are the Chauffeur's Application which is also the same form for a passenger endorsement (P) for CDL.

There is no clear explanation of suspension and the procedure to reinstate. Each individual case is different and must be handled separate and apart from one another.

Fees

Reinstatement fees are as follows:

  • License reinstatement - $76.50
  • Registration reinstatement - $51.50

Driving Records

A driving record or driving history is a list of tickets, suspensions and accidents for an individual driver. The fee for a driving record either in person or by mail is $17.50.
